Norway's police only fired two bullets last year... and no one was killed

THE INDEPENDENT
In the first 24 days of 2015, US police shot and killed 59 people, which is more than police in England and Wales did in the last 24 years (55).
With the difference in populations taken into account, US citizens are still around 100 times more likely to be shot by police than British citizens are.

I AGREE WITH A SOUTH CAROLINA REDNECK
South Carolina legislature passes bill to remove Confederate flag

The South Carolina legislature passed a bill early Thursday to remove the Confederate battle flag from the state capitol grounds after an emotional 13-hour debate over the controversial banner.
The flag, which dates back to the 1861-65 American Civil War, is a symbol of slavery and racism for many and Southern heritage for others.
The bill, already approved by the Senate, passed a third and final vote in the House of Representatives in the early hours of the morning by a margin of 94-20, and now goes to Governor Nikki Haley to be signed into law later in the day.
After one defeat Republican Representative Chris Corley, who is white and defended the flag, proposed substituting the banner with a white surrender flag, blasting his own party for failing to support him. "Maybe that will make everybody happy," he said.
A HARD & NECESSARY TRUTH
Enough of the mindless "Thank you for your service" bullshit! It's time to realize that in the 21st Century, America's national security apparatus has been a huge FAIL:
...in this new century, not a single action of the military that U.S. presidents now call “the finest fighting force the world has ever known” has, in the end, been anything but a dismal failure?

OK, WHERE ARE THE FRIGGING NOTES?
Rick Perlstein received some criticism for putting the notes to The Invisible Bridge online and I didn't think it was justified, Now, I have changed my mind because the site (http://www.rickperlstein.net/the-invisible-bridge/source-notes/) that contained the notes has expired:
UPDATE: I sent a note to Rick on his FB home page & he replied that he's working on this problem.
