IS IT 1959 AGAIN?

With the head Freeper drafting a proposal to dismantle the government and the Constitution, are we back to the madness of the Bircher years? I hear and read about some folks who are prepared to do whatever it takes to save America from socialism, abetted by media crazies like Glenn Beck.

In the late 50s and early 60s, we saw something similar, including the rise of the Minutemen and the disturbing ideology of some flag officers. Gen. Edwin Walker is a good example of the latter. A 1961 report by the Army found that he was lecturing his troops that people like Eleanor Roosevelt, Harry Truman and Dean Acheson had very questionable loyalty to America.
