Last night, I was listening to the Steve Brown Etc. religious wingnut show and I heard him talking with two Intelligent Design promoters, Dr. Hugh Ross and Dr. Fazale Rana. Brown was obviously pleased with Bush's recent statement approving the teaching of ID and asked the two what they thought about it.
I downloaded the MP3 from Brown's site and made this transcript of the August 5/6 show.
TIME --> 18:51
RANA: Now, what we are seeing here leads us to believe that it's actually a total overlap between science and theology. I mean, can you find anything that is of theological significance in the Bible that doesn't impact our understanding of the record of nature? And likewise, is there anything of significance in the record of nature that doesn't have profound theological implications? And so we need to restructure science and technology as total overlaps, not as seperate domains.
Brown's show is aimed at religious conservatives so what we see here reveals the real goals of the ID movement, contrary to their many public denials that they have a religious agenda. Ross is the founder and president of Reasons to Believe and Hana is the vice-president.
