VICTOR DAVIS HALF-WIT WHORE

AOL BushBots ocassionally post articles by wingnut pundits and I sometimes have a little fun by refuting the idiocy in detail. A real fool named ROBOSLATER posted a VDHW piece and I took it on. VDHW in italics.

VDH: [VDH claims that] Americans terrorizing Iraqi women and children.[are lies]
HADITHA

VDH: an Iraqi security force growing

LMFAO!!! Yeah, we've heard this shit before:

The U.S. and coalition military leaders today have a strong partnership with the Iraqi security forces and every week the number of Iraqis who are participating in the security forces is growing. Today there are some 200,000 Iraqis who are serving in the police and the civil defense corps and the border patrol and the army.

Rumsfeld, Feb. 23, 2004

VDH: A decade of appeasement of Islamic terrorism

There was no appeasement.

VDH: [continuation of previous statement] made September 11 inevitable.

Bush made 9-11 inevitable because he ignored the warnings from the previous Administration.

VDH: But what did 2,400 brave and now deceased Americans really sacrifice for in Iraq, along with thousands more who were wounded?

The LIES of the Bush regime.

VDH: Mohammar Khaddafi would be starting up his centrifuges and adding to his chemical weapons depots.

This is a LIE. The DIPLOMATIC work with Libya started years ago and finally paid off. The Iraq War had nothing to do with it.

VDH: We would still be hearing of a “militant wing” of Hamas, rather than watching a democratically elected terrorist clique reveal its true creed to the world.

We knew before what their creed was. Having them take the reins of political power is another disastrous consequence of Pres. Fredo's foreign policy.

VDH: Now, after three elections, there is an indigenous democratic government for the first time in the history of the Middle East.

And Iraq will become Iran's best ally, another disastrous result of the criminally incompetent Bush regime.

VDH: Our soldiers fought for the chance of a democracy;

That is a LIE:

THE PRESIDENT: Our mission is clear in Iraq. Should we have to go in, our mission is very clear: disarmament. 3/6/03

"But make no mistake -- as I said earlier -- we have high confidence that they have weapons of mass destruction. That is what this war was about and it is about." -Ari Fleischer Press Briefing 4/10/03

VDH: Our soldiers also removed a great threat to the United States.

Another LIE:

"We do not have any direct evidence that Iraq has used the period since Desert Fox to reconstitute its WMD programs",TENET, 2/07/01

POWELL, 2/24/2001: "He has not developed any significant capability with respect to weapons of mass destruction. He is unable to project conventional power against his neighbors"

"The Iraqi regime militarily remains fairly weak. It doesn't have the capacity it had 10 or 12 years ago. It has been contained." Powell, 5/15/01

"He [Saddam] does not control the northern part of his country. We are able to keep arms from him. His military forces have not been rebuilt." Rice, 7/29/01

MR. RUSSERT: Do we have evidence that he's harboring terrorists?

VICE PRES. CHENEY: There is--in the past, there have been some activities related to terrorism by Saddam Hussein. But at this stage, you know, the focus is over here on al-Qaida and the most recent events in New York. Saddam Hussein's bottled up, at this point, but clearly, we continue to have a fairly tough policy where the Iraqis are concerned. 9/16/01

VDH: Moreover, the American military took the war against radical Islam right to its heart in the ancient caliphate.

Another LIE. Iraq had nothing to do with radical Islam.

VDH: Some believe that the odyssey of jihadists to Iraq means we created terrorists,

And they would be correct. Both the Israelis and the Saudis have done studies of captured foreign fighters and each found that they were motivated by the invasion, not radical Islam.

VDH: The “too few troops” debate is not the sort that characterizes imperialism, especially when no American proconsul argues that we must permanently stay in large numbers in Iraq.

Who said it was? VDH deliberately distracts from the real point of the criticism: Rumsfeld's incompetence.
