GEORGE WILL IS ALSO AN APPEASER

The Editors note that prominent conservative columnist George Will bailed on Fredo's Fiasco in August 2006 so I decided to see if I could find a great quote from Will to amuse & edify the wingnuts.

Here's what I came up with:

Rhetoric of Unreality
Where Is Iraq After Nearly 3 Years of War?
By George F. Will
Thursday, March 2, 2006; Page A21
(excerpts)

Last week, in the latest iteration of a familiar speech (the enemy is "brutal," "we're on the offensive," "freedom is on the march") that should be retired, the president said, "This is a moment of choosing for the Iraqi people." Meaning what? Who is to choose, and by what mechanism?

Almost three years after the invasion, it is still not certain whether, or in what sense, Iraq is a nation. And after two elections and a referendum on its constitution, Iraq barely has a government.

Togetherness In Baghdad
A surreal facet of the Iraq fiasco is the lag between
when a fact becomes obvious and when
the fiasco's architects acknowledge it.

By George F. Will
Newsweek

Nov. 6, 2006 issue - Many months ago it became obvious to all but the most ideologically blinkered that America is losing the war launched to deal with a chimeric problem (an arsenal of WMD) and to achieve a delusory goal (a democracy that would inspire emulation, transforming the region).
