The first step to end the Iraq Fiasco has been taken:
House approves deadline for war pullout
Speaker Pelosi wins gamble with Sept. 1, 2008, withdrawal from Iraq
WASHINGTON - The House of Representatives on Friday passed legislation that would set Sept. 1, 2008, as the deadline for pulling all U.S. combat troops out of Iraq.
The vote was close, 218-212, reflecting the uncertainty beforehand over whether House Speaker Nancy Pelosi would be able to get enough support to challenge President Bush's war strategy. The withdrawal legislation was part of a $124 billion spending package.
Of course, the Administration will try to lie about this:
Defense Secretary Robert Gates said any delay in approving the funds could “have a genuinely adverse affect on the readiness of the Army and the quality of life for soldiers and their families.”
