RADIO TIDBITS

Subbing for Foamer Levin last night was Jed Babbin, the editor of Human Events and a contributing editor at The American Spectator. He's another hack who had a job in a GOP administration, joining gasbags like Bill Bennett, Bill Kristol and Foamer himself. Babbin was an undersecretary of Defense in the senior Bush regime and has gone on to write inflammatory and ill-informed books such as "Showdown: Why China Wants War with the United States." Babbin mentioned that he's been in DC for 3 decades and that means he has plenty of wingnut connections. He was a guest on Falafel O'Reilly's show in 2005 and had the temerity to complain that Media Matters unfairly attacked him. Here's the lie MM caught him saying on MSNBC:

The Duelfer report also said that there was a very substantial body of evidence that showed that much of what Saddam had was moved and might have been moved into Syria. Duelfer said that very specifically.

Babbin also repeated the lie that Plame wasn't covert, and for him that means that the original CIA referral to the DOJ was illegal and somebody should be going to jail for making false statements. Rowan Scarborough was a guest and he and Babbin both believe that "liberal cells" in the CIA have been waging a war against the Bush regime. Scarborough has been making the circuit of wingnut radio and TV shows, hawking his new book, "Sabotage: America's Enemies Within the CIA."

Mediamatters has more on this nutcase.
