MELANIE MORGAN MADNESS

This woman is one of the craziest BushBots I've come across and almost certainly the craziest who gets on TV. The delusions she nurtures about Iraq and Islamic terrorism are pathetic and her defenses of them are almost sad. Crooks & Liars has a clip of her recent appearance on Hardball and here's some of the transcript:
On the infamous hospital visit:

MATTHEWS: Whoa, whoa, no, that‘s the memory of James Comey, the former deputy attorney general, the testimony of the FBI director. I mean, it‘s pretty mounting, this evidence of what actually happened. You are saying it didn‘t happen. MORGAN: Come on! I am not saying that it did or did not. I was not there and I don‘t know. But what I do know is that we needed that program and I am really glad that if there was pressure applied, that it kept it in place because otherwise Americans could die.

Morgan here is adopting a classical solipsistic argument: If I didn't see it, it didn't happen. Note that she doesn't take the same stance toward the wiretapping even though that is also something she has no direct knowledge of.

On the US Attorney firings:

But you know what, we are in the middle of a war in which we are facing very serious consequences—long-term consequences if we don‘t win it. So I suggest you get your mind focused around something important for a change.

In MelanieWorld, the war justifies lying to Congress and spying without probable cause.

On Cheney's 1994 statement about Iraq:

MORGAN: We have had some very serious things take place. We are in Iraq for the right reasons. We are trying to stop the spread of the Islamic terrorism.

Morgan here buys the lies of Stephen Hayes (as does Cheney) about the threat Saddam posed to America, WITHOUT ANY EVIDENCE.

Finally, Morgan plays the insane fear card one more time:

MORGAN: . Naomi, because you‘re going to look great in burka. You‘re going to look super in a burka.
Morgan has also been busy attacking anti-war vet Jon Soltz. In her August 10 column in WorldNut, she states "Jon Soltz is acting like a cockroach, frantically scurrying from the spotlight of truth that's shining on him. " Keith Olbermann (Via Crooks & Liars) catches here going even further donw the road of hatred: “(Soltz is a) hypocritical cockroach. He needs to be stomped on and neutralized…”

When historians come to write the legacy of Karl Rove, I'm sure Melanie Morgan's name will come up because he helped make her possible.
