HADTIHA AND WAR WHORE HANNITY

Today Hannity had on a soldier who was involved in the Haditha massacre and subsequently acquitted. Hannity used this as a platform to attack Rep. John Murtha and the Democrats in general and called for Murtha to be expelled from Congress. The truth is that the Marines first lied about the events (from the WaPo):

The first account of the killings there was a false or erroneous statement issued the next day, Nov. 20, by a U.S. Marine spokesman from a Marine base in Ramadi: "A U.S. Marine and 15 civilians were killed yesterday from the blast of a roadside bomb in Haditha. Immediately following the bombing, gunmen attacked the convoy with small arms fire. Iraqi army soldiers and Marines returned fire, killing eight insurgents and wounding another.''

The Marines then refused to investigate immediately after and as a result (from the NYT):

By the time the Marine Corps announced murder charges against the infantrymen, 13 months had passed. Evidence vanished, witnesses evaporated and memories paled.

As a result, these Marines got away with murder and the conservatives cheer.
