A free economy is one in which men and women can make their own choices. They can choose the kind of work they want to do, and where they want to do it. They can buy what they choose, and abstain from what they choose. They can work when they like, within limits, and rest when they like. They can change occupations and employers and their material circumstances much as they like. These are great benefits; they help to satisfy the fundamental human longing for self-reliance. They make men and women free.
