WHEN CRACKPOTS ATTACK

Ruth Marcus takes on Paul Krugman in a WaPo op-ed and doesn't come off very well, mostly because she starts off very badly:
Social Security faces a daunting financing problem

It's NOT daunting and to assert otherwise either shows ignorance or duplicity. As Alan Greenspan observed:

Social Security is not a big crisis. We’re approximately 2 percentage points of payroll short over the very long run. It’s a significant closing of the gap, but it’s doable, and doable in any number of ways.
