WINGNUT FOOD FIGHT

Freddie the Hutt has been endorsed by the National Right to Life Committee (see here for their reasonings) and Paul Weyrich, a high priest of social conservatism and Romney supporter, alleged in the Washington Times that "in all probability the Thompson people were engaged with the National Right to Life people in financial dealing," an astounding claim of hypocrisy. NPR's Jon Elving thinks that the NRLC endorsed Thompson because they can't back pro-choice Rudy and they either disagree with the other candidates or don't feel they can win:
It must be said that O'Steen and his board of directors were not conducting a search for the most anti-abortion candidate. They were looking for someone who could beat Giuliani and then beat Hillary Clinton or whichever alternative pro-choice candidate the Democrats prefer.
