WINGNUTS ARE MEDIOCRE AND TIRESOME

We get the same stale arguments over and over again and no matter how effectively they are rebutted, they live for another day. Today's example is Sister Toldjah writing about "The abject failure of liberalism." Once again, a wingnut blames the 60s.

Here are the replies I made:

Thomas Sowell writes “Every one of these beneficial trends sharply reversed after liberal notions gained ascendancy during in the 1960s.”

Liberal notions gained ascendancy in 1700 A.D.

One of the biggest failures - if not the biggest - of liberalism is its failure to encourage personal responsibility.

Here I think we need to talk about the failures of the investment banks, the ratings agencies and the home lenders involved in the sub-prime fiasco.

This is a direct result of the Great Society programs implemented by the Johnson administration in the mid 60s

Here’s another direct result:
In 1959, the overall poverty rate was 22.4% and by 1969 it had decreased to 13.7%.
