MORE WINGNUT LIES ABOUT TAXES

UPDATE: The KPMG study did put the U.S. higher than all but Japan.

I've read and heard this claim before:

the corporate tax rate, currently second-highest in the industrialized world (Steve Forbes, WSJ, 1/24/08)

and I was suspicious. KPMG has done a survey of corporate tax rates around the world and it turns out this is another lie from the wingnuts. Here are a few of the industrialized countries which have a higher rate (>35%) as of 1/2007.

Canada 36.1
Germany 38.36
Italy 37.25
Japan 40.69

Forbes also brings out this old canard:
He will repeal the death tax, which unfairly forces relatives of the recently deceased to sell small family farms

This is simply false.
