OBAMA DRAWING "REAGAN VOTERS"

The divisions within the Democratic Party between Obama and Clinton supporters may not be that damaging in the Fall. TIME reports that Obama is doing remarkably well among people who had voted for the GOP in the past:
Obama Voters Impact McCain, Too

Obama is drawing so many moderates and independents to the Democratic race from what would normally be the ranks of the Republican electorate that 1) he's rolling up large margins and stitching together a broader coalition, and 2) he's making the Republican electorate comparatively smaller, and more conservative.

Meanwhile, Fats Limbaugh and Sean Hannity are stuck in the past. Fats tells TIME Magazine:

I firmly believe that conservatism — genuinely articulated, passionately articulated — wins in national elections most every time it's tried. I tell people, 'Go back to the eighties.' Ronald Reagan did not have talk radio or an alternative media supporting him.

We know that Frank Luntz thinks this is a bad idea and more importantly, the halo around St. Ronnie is getting smaller. Even conservative pundits like Cal Thomas are exposing St. Ronnie:
John McCain, some say, is not a true conservative. Was Reagan? Reagan campaigned as a tax cutter. He cut taxes, but he also raised them. He promised conservative judges and spoke of his opposition to abortion, yet named two justices to the Supreme Court (Sandra Day O'Connor and Anthony Kennedy) who voted to uphold Roe v. Wade. Against the advice of some, Reagan deployed Marines to Lebanon and saw them murdered by a homicide bomber. Reagan engaged in an arms-for-hostages deal with Iran.
