WAY TO GO, GOP!

I don't think many people will be looking to Grandpa McWAR for change.

81 percent of Americans think country on "wrong track"

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Four out of five Americans believe things are "on the wrong track" in the United States, the gloomiest outlook in about 20 years, according to a New York Times/CBS News poll released on Thursday.

The poll found that 81 percent of respondents felt "things have pretty seriously gotten off on the wrong track." That was up from 69 percent last year and 35 percent in early 2003.

Only 4 percent of survey respondents said the country was better off than it was five years ago, while 78 percent said it was worse, the newspaper said.

The Times said Americans were more unhappy with the country's direction than at any time since the survey started in the early 1990s.

Way to go GOP??????? Have you forgotten the Democratic Party is in control of the House and Senate? And, don't you think there is something missing from teh story? To understand the full meaning of the answer, we need to know the complete question. Unfortunately, people listen to the headline, or read the article and don't question where it came from. Why are we on the wrong track? What track is wrong? Unemployment is up --- all the way to 5.1%! ooooooh. Unemployment under Clinton averaged 5.5%, but those were good times. 95% of homeowners are able to and making their mortgage payments. But, we don't talk about that -- oh no. That is the problem with inaccurate or propaganda reporting - say it long enough and people will believe it!

CNN (Communist News Network) only asked the simple, broad question, if you thought the country was on track. I answered no, but not because I'm a left wing Bush hater. I said no because I think most of the country's left wing whiners are our biggest problem and they are leading the country in the wrong direction. Lack of self control is what caused the mortgage crisis. Blame yourselves if you bought a house that was way too expensive. Join the military or bring back the draft and stop complaining about contractors (who are mostly ex-military) instead of complaining about it (code pink). I can go on and on but you get the idea. Clean up your own backyard.

The housing crisis was orchestrated by the admn. & fed resv to re-check New and growing real estate investors. Old money hates competition. You didnt notice Greenspan advise ARMs (adjustable rate mortgage) to America just for the feds to start record hikes. So when people went to Re-Finance they also were advised to get an ARM because it was New and the market was said to be suited for this type of program. Once enough of America was locked in, the rate began to FLY. If you've done your homework the feds made record single quarter hikes, costing more, way more to borrow. I know people whos Rates went up 2& a half what they originally paid. How can you keep up with that . Also Gas prices are, can, and should be regulated by the gov't (Because this type of energy is not conventionally produced) but they have set on their hands on that also..!?

ANON @ 6:26:

1) The Clinton average was 5.2%, slightly less than the Bush average. Moreover, the labor participation rate was higher inder Clinton.

2) The credit crunch has been called by many experts, including Alan Greenspan, the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression.

"Lack of self control is what caused the mortgage crisis. "

Yes and that lack iof self-control started on Wall Street, not Main Street.
