MAN-ON-DOG SOILS HIMSELF AGAIN

(h/t Matt at ThinkProgress)

FORMER senator Rick Santorum has become an op-ed columnist for the Philidelphia Inquirer and is still stuck on stupid. His most recent spewing, "The Elephant in the Room: Let's call this 'terrorism' by its real name," is riddled with ignorance and inconsistency. Atrios notes one problem with Little Ricky's stances on Democracy and Islam and you can read for yourself where the difficulty is:
Our government in this memo is teaching us a politically correct version of the truth. For example, it tells us that democracy and Islam are compatible. But Islam is less compatible with democracy than is Christianity. Jesus said, “Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s.” There was from the beginning a recognition of two realms - the sacred and the secular. From Islam’s inception there has been one realm. Islamic law (sharia) is the law of the government.

Here's the fun part: The Iraqi Constitution enshrines Sharia Law -

Article (2):1st -- Islam is the official religion of the state and is a basic source of legislation:

(a) No law can be passed that contradicts the undisputed rules of Islam.

So I guess we can throw out all the BS about fighting for Democracy in Iraq.
