Meanwhile, the presidential campaign they are waging is helping to harden the partisan divisions that have defined the country's politics for a decade or more. Rather than finding ways to bring about real reconciliation, the campaign is fostering the further polarization of the country.
One would infer from this that EACH campaign is equally to blame when in fact the McCain/Palin campaign is behind all or almost all the polarization. In fact, McCain started the serious polarization by pandering to Mullah Dobson by picking Palin. We can also point out that Mark Davis, campaign co-manager, said that this election WOULD NOT be about the issues.
