AN UPDATE TO WILLIAM F. BUCKLEY JR.

Like many conservatives, he didn't think much of professors:
I'd rather entrust the government of the United States to the first 400 people listed in the Boston telephone directory than to the faculty of Harvard University.
William F. Buckley, Jr.

Today, we can turn that same logic on the MOTU:
A couple of years ago, it would have been hyperbole to suggest that we would all be better off if the senior executives at all our major financial firms were people picked entirely at random out of the phone book. Now, it's arguably true.
Hilzoy, Washington Monthly
