First, torture wasn't anything more than "fraternity pranks" (Fats Limbaugh) yet it is supposed to have been extremely effective. I think Steve Benen pointed this out but I can't find a direct link.
Second, the Supreme Court is supposed to have a liberal bias yet it overturned 3 of the 4 Sotomayor decisions that came to it. (From DJThrawns at Politico)
