At the How To Take Back America Conference last weekend, conservative speaker Kitty Werthmann talked about how higher taxes - up to 70% - led to the creation of National Socialism in Hitler's Germany. If the higher taxes really were a tell-tale sign of Fascism or Socialism, then the United States would have been that way for some time, considering that from 1936 through 1980, the top marginal tax rate was never less than 70%.
