WHY TRANSCRIPTS SOMETIMES AREN'T ENOUGH

(h/t caller to the Mike Malloy Show)

Transcripts necessarily omit intonation and facial expression, so you can miss the real import of what someone says. A good example is Wolf Blitzer's reaction to Rep. Alan Grayson. In the clip, Blitzer acts as if Rep. Grayson said the Earth was flat, something he doesn't do when a Republican makes an outrageous statement.
