PRES. OBAMA AS PRESIDENT
I've noticed that Pres. Obama doesn't try to run a top-down government by attempting to force his positions on Congress and I think that's a defensible retreat from the "Imperial Presidency." The psychologist Drew Westen makes an interesting case that refusal to take a firm stand is just part of his weakness as a leader and I find it difficult to disagree. Pres. Obama didn't even try to convince Lieberman to support a public option or, in lieu of that, a Medicare buy-in.
