Looking into the future, some conservatives seem eager to cut what they call unsustainable entitlements like Social Security and Medicare but Paul Craig Roberts correctly thinks that the real unsustainablity lies elsewhere:
Social Security, formerly an untouchable “third rail of politics,” is now “unsustainable,” while the real unsustainables--a pre-1929 unregulated financial system and open-ended multi-trillion dollar Global War Against Terror--are the new untouchables.
Roberts also thinks Hank Paulson should be in jail and I can't say I disagree.
