"CITIZENS UNITED" HITS TUCSON

Earlier this week, I heard an ad on KNST urging people to tell Rep. Gabrielle Giffords to vote against health care reform and it was sponsored by a group I was unfamiliar with, American Future Fund. According to POLITICO, this is one of the new "secret" money groups that the Citizens United decision allows:
The American Future Fund, another nonprofit, this week launched a $900,000 barrage of anti-health-reform television and radio ads targeting Democratic incumbents in 18 Republican-leaning congressional districts.

The American Future Fund, an Iowa-based 501(c)(4) that has a kitchen cabinet stacked with career GOP consultants, accepts both individual and corporate gifts and has members in every state, said spokesman Nick Ryan. But he declined to share an estimate of the average donation size or of the group’s membership.
