Gregg retracts Maddow jab

Senator Judd Gregg told me in my story today that misinformation about what he sees as the successful TARP program had been driven in party by a deceitful media.
"It’s become demonized on the left and the right by screamers — Glenn Beck and Rachel Maddow — who have no interest in the facts; they’re just interested in hyperbolizing and generating attention,” he said.
But Gregg today retracted his attack on the MSNBC host -- though not on Fox's Beck -- in a statement through a spokeswoman.
“It seems that I was inaccurate in characterizing Ms. Maddow as having attacked TARP when I was quoted in your article. She has, in fact, defended the results of this program," he said.

THIS IS AT LEAST POLITE
I think Sen. Judd Gregg (R-NH) is too conservative on just about all issues but he at least had the decency to retract a false claim he made about Rachel Maddow.

Bill Cunningham is also lying about political figures again. Today, in a self-exculpatory segment which properly criticised
Nancy Pelosi's promotion of Obama's Afghan War which Cunningham
now says correctly is unwinnable, he accused Pelosi of voting to allow Bush to attack Iraq along with Hillary Clinton.
No she didn't, Cunningham.

Further, though Cunningham attacked
the Democrats viciously for six years as surrendercrats on Iraq, he now says Bush made a bad mistake, while absolving himself of blame for promoting the war.
He further lied today that the intelligence was simply determined belatedly "mistaken" although he had called the now vindicated antiwar Republicans antisemites and conspiracy theorists at the time who demonstrated the intelligence was cherrypicked, browbeaten by Cheney, designed in part by the Israeli Lobby. These antiwar GOPers as well as Dems who predicted there would be no WMDs found in Iraq? Not a word of "you were right and I was wrong" from Billy.
As for your antiwar posing now Billy, eloquent but hypocritical, too little and too late.
