Arizona millionaires on the rebound

Out of Arizona’s 2.46 million households, 117,094, or 4.76 percent, claim the elite status in 2010. That compares with 120,116, or 5.23 percent, in the peak year of 2007 in the five-year survey. The total dropped to 114,744 in 2008 and 107,355 in 2009 before heading back up.
The list, compiled each year by Phoenix Marketing International, bases its rankings on households with at least $1 million in investable, liquid assets and does not count sponsored retirement accounts or real estate values.
The overall number of millionaires in America also is up, rising 7.6 percent from 2009 to 5.56 million.
