This morning in Tucson, AZ, Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was holding a town hall at Oracle and Ina when a gunman walked up and opened fire on her and others. I first heard the news on KUAZ, the local NPR affiliate, at about 11:31 AM. Since then, there have been updates and right now it seems that 10 or 11 people were shot, including Gabrielle, and several have died.
I've canvassed for her campaign for the last 3 election cycles and I met her once. When I heard that she had been shot, I immediateley thought that it was serious because she is a smaller person. The latest news reports indicate that she was shot in the head.
