Trump jumped on the birther bandwagon without taking one necessary precaution: having his own legal birth certificate. I am also from New York State and I know that official birth certificates look pretty much like the one Pres. Obama has provided, so it's natural that Trump wouldn't want to produce an official one but he can't play that game for very long, except with diehards.
UPDATE: The Smoking Gun has scans of what official NYC birth certificates look like from decades ago.
