John Cole adds to Sen. Lugar's doubts about the intervention in Libya. I don't have any answers, only possibilities.
Cole asks:
"What do we do when we figure out the people we are “saving” hate us, just slightly less than they hated Qaddafi?" We then may realize that change in the Middle East is going to take a very long time and I think that's a very good lesson.
"Are we going to have to stay and protect people after we “win?" Perhaps we will have to maintain a no-fly zone for years, just as we did in Iraq. That was particularly beneficial to the Kurds.
