The great virtuosi of a cosmic love of humanity and goodness, whether stemming from Nazareth or Assisi or from Indian royal castles, have not operated with the political means of violence. Their kingdom was 'not of this world' and yet they worked and sill work in this world. The figures of Platon Karatajev and the saints of Dostoievski still remain their most adequate reconstructions. He who seeks the salvation of the soul, of his own and of others, should not seek it along the avenue of politics, for the quite different tasks of politics can only be solved by violence. Max Weber, Politics as a Vocation.
I noted before that Mark Levin has elevated conservatism from a mere political viewpoint to an all-encompassing way of living and Rod Dreher seems to view 9-11 as the core of his personal religion:
Living in New York City in the aftermath of 9/11 was, I confess, one of the happiest times in my life. It was also the most sorrowful and anxious, and I would not relive it again for anything. But the truth is that that localized apocalypse gave me a newfound sense of purpose and meaning. After that, I knew who I was, what was happening in the world, and what I was to do.

The radio jocks are just paralleling Congress. Both parties had members kissing Netanyahu's ass after the speech, saying American fidelity to Israel reinforces Bible truth and thus also keeps the US in God's good graces.

Luckily, Nadia mentioned essentially the entire Arab world viewed the Congressional reaction and now understands the US government is Israel's sold-out bitch, not a neutral broker, and will act accordingly.
