(h/t Jason Linkins at HuffPo)

This is what then-candidate Obama said during a Town Hall debate with the grumpy old guy:
And if we have Osama bin Laden in our sights and the Pakistani government is unable or unwilling to take them out, then I think that we have to act, and we will take them out.

We will kill bin Laden. We will crush al Qaeda. That has to be our biggest national security priority.
PoltiFact rates this as a "Promise Kept"

There are those idealistic progressives who are predicting Obama will use the killing to edge out of Afghanistan Pakistan and Iraq methodically. The there are the seemingly more realistic progressives and "leftists" who are predicting even more aggression from O as a result.

I thought the exit from Iraq was certain?

Reports are that the US is still trying to finagle a prolonged stay if only thru mercenaries if all else fails. Pat Lang at turcopolier.typepad.com says the Iraqis won't give in, though--not that he's infallible. Some say Obama is allowing the appearance of request to avoid being cast as a surrendercrat, and the exit fix is in.

good site for reporting on Iraq and other war state of affairs. but they also are anti wikileaks, anti Assange feminists so caution on other issues.
