OK, FOR ONE THING, ST. REAGAN WASN'T MUCH CONCERNED ABOUT ABORTION

Fats Limbaugh is busy defending social conservatives (Fundies) today and claimed that Ronald Reagan was one of them.  I went to the online version of the Reagan Library and there are ONLY TWO QUOTES about abortion from his 8 years in office:
Debate Between the President and Former Vice President Walter F. Mondale in Louisville, Kentucky
October 7, 1984

"With me, abortion is not a problem of religion, it's a problem of the Constitution. I believe that until and unless someone can establish that the unborn child is not a living human being, then that child is already protected by the Constitution, which guarantees life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness to all of us."

Remarks to Participants in the March for Life Rally
January 22, 1988
"And yet our opponents tell us not to interfere with abortion. They tell us not to impose our morality on those who wish to allow or participate in the taking of the life of infants before birth. Yet no one calls it imposing morality to prohibit the taking of life after a child is born. We're told about a woman's right to control her own body. But doesn't the unborn child have a higher right, and that is to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?"
There may have been actions Reagan took behind the scenes but I have no ready access to them, so one way to compare Reagan on the abortion issue is to compare the mumber of remarks on abortion made by his successor, George H.W. Bush. I went to the online Bush library and searched his public records for "abortion." There were 78 results and that was in only 4 years!!!
