There is a HUGE gap between the Fundies and the Free Market Fairy believers like Paul Ryan but this just hasn't come out much in the main stream press so I'm glad the American Values Network (AVN) has decided to spread the word about Ayn Rand to the Fundies. AVN has a list of quotes from Rand and some of them are by any measure extreme::
Mike Wallace: “You are out to destroy almost every edifice of the contemporary American way of life, our Judeo-Christian religion, our modified government regulated capitalism, our rule by majority will. Other reviews have said you scorn churches and the concept of God. Are these accurate criticisms?”
Rand: “Yes.” (4:19 [1])
Rand: “It must be either reason or faith. I am against God for the reason that I don’t want to destroy reason.” (6:42)
