Carmona, former surgeon general, to run for Kyl's seat

Richard Carmona, a former U.S. surgeon general in President George W. Bush's administration, announced Thursday that he will run for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by retiring U.S. Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz.
His announcement was silent on his party affiliation, but Carmona is running as a Democrat in the Democratic primary, said Rodd McLeod, a political consultant who said he is helping Carmona assemble his team.

MORE GOOD NEWS FOR ARIZONA
OK, I would naturally prefer someone like Bernie Sanders but that's not at all realistic in a state as conservative as Arizona. I recall that Richard Carmona had the integrity to publicly call BS on the criminal Bush regime and that took some courage, so I'm glad he's going to run to take Kyl's U.S. Senate seat:
