WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN
Some time ago I saw a voter analysis which showed that Bachmann, Santorum and Perry were basically appealing the same set of GOP Fundie voters. Even today, the Fundie vote is divided in South Carolina (see here and here) but the GOP should count its blessings because a Fundie-approved nominee would have meant a replay of 1964.
