THIS IS GETTING ANNOYING

First, this AP article prominently mentions a small country of no strategic value to the United States:
Another GOP senator backs Hagel for defense post
Associated Press – 3 hrs ago
WASHINGTON (AP) — A second Republican senator says he will back former Sen. Chuck Hagel as the next Pentagon chief.

Nebraska's senior senator, Mike Johanns, says he believes Hagel will be a strong supporter of Israel and other allies of the U.S. and will be firm with America's enemies.
Second, a number of Israel-Fisters are trying to clamp down on academic freedom at Brooklyn College:
Brooklyn College's academic freedom increasingly threatened over Israel event
New York politicians join the Alan Dershowitz-led campaign to dictate
to colleges what academic events they can hold

UPDATE: Stephen Walt provides some statistics to show how our foreign policy discussions are Israeli-centric:
As Rosie Gray amd Andrew Kaczynski of Buzzfeed noted, at yesterday's hearing on Chuck Hagel Israel was mentioned 166 times, and Iran (a problem closely linked to Israel) 144 times. Afghanistan was mentioned only 20 times, and the problem of suicides of U.S. troops only twice.

Of minus strategic value to us.
It's a parasite-host dichotomy, but don't say that if your job might depend on it.
