The Prime Minister of Turkey, a NATO ally, slammed Zionism at a UN conference:
We should be striving to better understand the beliefs of others but instead we see that people act based on prejudice and exclude others and despiuse them. And that is why it is necessary that we must consider — just like Zionism or anti-Semitism or fascism — Islamophobia as a crime against humanity.
Naturally, the American Secretary of State and others condemn this attack on Zionism but no one seems to point out that Erdogan expressed a very popular view in the Middle East.

And not an unpopular view in Europe. Unfortunately for the U.S. it might take another trillion dollars
