THIS SNUCK UP ON ME

Pink Floyd's masterpiece "Dark Side of the Moon" was released 40 years ago yesterday. A couple of NPR employees recall the first time they heard it and I remember reading in my dorm room when a friend in an adjacent room started playing the entire album.  I was so struck by it that I went to his room and for the 1st time, asked him what he was playing.

If you like British progressive symphonic rock of the 1970s and have the opportunity, listen to the entire Scheherazade LP by Renaissance and The Snow Goose LP by Camel.

Obscure to Americans but stellar.
