I was listening to Ground Zero and Clyde Lewis reported that an MIT police officer had been shot & killed. He was getting information from Twitter and I started following #watertown. This is the first time I've followed a breaking news story on Twitter and I was impressed by how quickly tweets were getting the basic information online.
After 20 minutes, I decided it was better to listen/watch one of the local stations, WCVB, channel 5. Later, I added WHDH, channel 7.
