Corey Robin has an interesting article in The Nation connecting Nietzsche's concept of the Ubermensch to conservative economic ideology and has a discussion thread on Crooked Timber. This article reminded of a thought about young glibertarians I had a few years ago: They have adopted Ayn Rand or Hayek because they are still searching for their own Selves and these writers promote the notion (something like Nietzsche) of the extraordinary Self, separate from the crowd.
