CONSERVATIVES OFTEN USE THIS LOGIC

Rep. Louis "The Weird" Gohmert argues that we don't need sex education in schools because “Mankind has existed for a pretty long time without anyone ever having to give a sex-ed lesson to anybody."   I've heard other conservatives use a similar argument ("we did OK before") against Social Security, Food Stamps and other programs that actually help people and if you carry the logic to its natural conclusion, we don't need agriculture, writing, the printing press or the computer.
