On FOX News Sunday, Rep. Eliot Engel (D-NY) and Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN) both came out in favor of a limited military strike on Syria and on Face the Nation, Sen. Jack Reed, (D-R.I.) and Rep. Mike McCaul, (R-Texas) also called for a strike.
There seem to be 2 goals: (1) punish Syria for using chemical weapons and (2) preventing Al Qaeda from getting these weapons and to me these seem to conflicting. The best way to prevent Al Qaeda from getting its hands on these weapons is to provide some support to the Syrian regime, not punish it.
Sen. Reed said that our objective should be "to make it prohibitive for any country to use chemical
weapons, weapons of mass destruction - so a military option that would
be limited to that point is something that [President Obama] should be
thinking about very carefully." but there's no point in trying to deter a regime that is trying to save itself.

There have been overtures to Syria the past few years-but with a provision it cuts ties with Iran.
This should be and has been a dealbreaker. Iran is there to stay, the US is bungling, invading and catering to Israel on its way out, in the medium-term.

could you get the AUTHENTIC left to coalesce with the Impeach Obama right before Syria is attacked with similar lies and end runs around the UN that Obama condemned Bush for?
