PUBLIC LIBERTARIANS

(h/t Atrios)
I've been suspicious of libertarians because many of the prominent ones (e.g, the Pauls) oppose abortion and I can't see how they can reconcile that with a commitment to personal freedom.  Roy Edroso calls attention to the fact the other big name libertarians support "Stop and Frisk," even though that seems a clear violation of the 4th Amendment.  At this point, I'm guessing that libertarianism in America can mean pretty much what you want it to mean.

Cannon has evolved from a "no alliance against war with libertarians" position to a more latitudinarian stance.
