On this first Monday in October — the Constitutionally mandated opening of the next session of the United States Supreme Court — Talk radio is apparently on the docket with at least one SCOTUS Justice. In an exclusive interview in New York magazine, Associate Justice Antonin Scalia cited former Secretary of Education turned Salem Radio Network host, Bill Bennett, as his favorite Talk radio host. The compliment came in response to the magazine’s inquiry about Scalia’s media habits. “You know who my favorite is? My good friend Bill Bennett,” he said. “He has a wonderful talk show. It’s very thoughtful. He has good callers. I think they keep off stupid people.” Upon learning about the accolade from Scalia, Bennett (pictured) replied, “I couldn’t be happier to know that Morning in America is a part of Justice Scalia’s morning routine. Now, if we can just get four more of his colleagues to tune in before they put their robes on, maybe the country will be in better shape.”
