For me, the best was Harry Reid's decision to put an end to GOP obstructionism by limiting the filibuster. And don't for a second think this will come back to haunt Democrats because the presumed GOP retaliation would have happened anyway.
Second best is that the idea of expanding Social Security has now become an acceptable discussion topic.
Third, contrary to what the radio gasbags have been saying for the last few years, California's fiscal difficulties have pretty much disappeared.
