MOVEMENT CONSERVATISM WILL BE AROUND FOR A WHILE :-(

Back in the early 60's, the moderate Republican group The Ripon Society noted with dismay how wacked out the conservative extremists in the GOP were and their description would fit almost perfectly today, 50 years later.  Aside from Phyllis Schlafly, I don't think there are any public figures who are still around from those days so I am forced to conclude that movement conservatism will never die out in America.
