I think Nielsen/Arbitron are cooking the data because I take note of the share conservative talk stations get in major markets and it's rarely if ever about 5.0:
Nielsen’s Jon Miller offered attendees details from the newly-dubbed Audio Today report (formerly Arbitron’s annual Radio Today study), including the fact that News/Talk ranks #1 atop the list of Top 10 Audio Formats of 2013, posting a 9.3 AQH share (6+). ‘News/Talk/Information’ (as Nielsen labels the spoken-word format) also ranked #4 overall in Persons 25-54. Meanwhile, Sports/Talk radio ranked #8 on Nielsen’s Top 10 Audio Formats list with a 4.3 share (6+) and #7 among Persons 25-54, posting a 4.9.
