For one thing, the Communist use of language is related
to a supposedly inevitable "great day" that lies somewhere in
the future; but the Radical Rightist use of language is related
to a sense of impending disaster. To borrow a term from
James Thurber, the outlook to which it is geared is "doomshaped."
