MANY AMERICANS ARE AWARE OF THIS DOUBLE STANDARD

The rich don't live by the same rules the rest of us do by the very fact that they are rich.  Being rich means you can afford the best lawyers instead of an overworked Legal Aid lawyer and this get "more justice" than most people.

Today, Atrios found another example:

Think Progress
At the very end of last year, Shaun Goodman left a bar in Olympia, Washington in his Ferrari and led police on a high speed chase that approached 100 mph at times before crashing into two cars, jumping the curb and eventually careening into the side of a house. ... He pleaded guilty to felony charges of eluding a police officer and driving under the influence, his seventh DUI conviction. And last week, Judge James Dixon handed down his sentence: no jail time and one year in a work release program.
This is reminder that people are aware of "the contingencies of reinforcement" in American that come with wealth, so there really aren't many slackers as some conservatives assert.
